The 21st Annual Congress for the New Urbanism — CNU 21 — will be held in Salt Lake City, May 29-June 1 2013, bringing together an anticipated audience of more than 1,300 of the nation’s leading architects, planners, public officials, non-profit professionals, academics, researchers, environmentalists and developers dedicated to reshaping sprawl and restoring our urban centers. CNU 21 is a great networking opportunity and educational experience for professionals interested in promoting the economic, social and environmental benefits of sustainable and healthy communities.
The theme for the conference is “A Living Community” which focuses on balancing the demands of physical, social, economic, and environmental values by connecting people to place. It awakens a stewardship for our land and each other. It is measured by how well we care for the people around us, the places we make, and the land that hosts us.
CNU is a member-driven advocacy organization that collaborates with other enterprises seeking to vitalize and energize communities through sound planning and design, with a mission to change the practices and standards of urban design and development to support healthy regions and diverse, complete neighborhoods. CNU NY recently became an Empire State Future member.
