Syracuse Post-Standard chronicles the saga of the Clay Business Park

(January 4, 2012)  In the Syracuse exurb of Clay is a 335-acre tract of land that has been envisioned as a business park for four decades. The saga entails Industrial Development Authorities, state grants, local bonds, the need for infrastructure and site improvements, wetlands issues, disinterested potential tenants, eminent domain,  creative deals with a homeowner, and more.  The Clay Business Park saga illuminates many of the key land use and economic development decisions facing the communities of Upstate New York.
