(December 25, 2011) In New York City, vacant lots dot neighborhoods in the boroughs. Developers wishing to avert blight and ride out the recession that is resulting in delayed development projects are teaming up with enterprising residents to put many of these lots to productive use, for gardens and agriculture, markets and food stands. It will be interesting to see what happens when the economy allows the restart of the development of those lots.
