Adirondacks line: restore for rail or convert to trail?

A battle is brewing in the North Country over 119 miles of rail line that cuts through the heart of the Adirondacks. One one side of the debate are the rail enthusiasts, who believe the line should be restored for train use. On the other side are those who believe the railroad should be converted to a multi-use recreational trail.  State officials recently decided to hold a public review of the current plan for the corridor.
