CNN.com reports that ridership on America’s public transit systems has risen. The increase of 1.5% from 2011 to 2012 seems modest, but since ridership is measured in trips–and since tens of millions of trips were prevented because of Hurricane Sandy in the New York metro area–the rise is notable, and impressive.
