Livingston Avenue Railroad Bridge Coalition

The Livingston Ave. Bridge could be an important bike and pedestrian link between two communities, the rail station, while enhancing regional recreation trails

Livingston Avenue Rail Bridge:

When NYS received the High Speed Rail funds rejected by the state of Florida, the much needed rehab of the Livingston Avenue Bridge between Albany and Rensselaer could finally be planned.

While this project will be important to improving rail service on the Empire Corridor, locals also see this as a crucial opportunity to recreate pedestrian and bicycle connections over the Hudson River.  With the region’s train station and the planned waterfront development that we wrote about last December, De Laet’s Landing in Rensselaer, Empire State Future, coalition partners Parks & Trails New York   and Tri-State Transportation Campaign, New York State Bicycling Coalition, local residents and many more are banding together to form the Livingston Avenue Railroad Bridge Coalition.
