(February 5, 2013)– A Rochester Business Journal poll revealed that more owner-occupied downtown housing is most important for the center city’s revitalization. (A downtown grocery store scored the silver medal in the poll–the lack of which is a constant lament for downtown denizens today.) This priority echoes the Brookings Institution’s “2%” metric–that when downtowns account for 2% of a region’s residential population, all the elements necessary to the downtown’s revitalization will fall into place.
More owner-occupied housing still top priority for downtown Rochester
