Developers bid to build first phase of Willets Point redevelopment, Queens

The latest step in a long and complicated process to remake problematic Willets Point in Queens is a bidding process to select a developer for the first phase. The complex project will involve brownfield remediation; a union has opposed the development vehemently because one of the bidding developers may lease a property in Brooklyn to Walmart.
