Buffalo Sabres wins Webster Block on Buffalo waterfront

(August 29, 2012) The Buffalo Sabres NHL hockey team has been selected to redevelop the city-owned Webster Block in downtown Buffalo after a suspenseful process leading up to Mayor Byron Brown’s announcement. The Sabres plan to transform the Webster Block into a $123 million complex including two ice rinks, a hotel, retail and restaurants. The Webster Block is regarded as a crucial parcel for the waterfront and downtown’s revitalization.
